No single web page no matter how well it is designed will ever be number one in all of the search engines at the same time. | What about Yahoo? |
| I get more questions about Yahoo than any other search engine. There are tens of thousands of search engines, of which Yahoo is just one. Although, it is the most recognizable, it is the hardest one to get listed. They have employees that look at your page, then determine IF they want to list you. This is totally arbitrary and less that 0.001% of the sites that are submitted are even LOOKED AT, which means that far fewer are added. We will submit your engine to Yahoo, but obviously make no guarantees. If you meet someone that does, they likely have a cousin that works in their submittal department or they don't understand how Yahoo actually works. If they truly guarantee the work, pass their name along because I would love to have this miracle worker on my payroll. | Understand what you are getting (and what you need). |
| If you have an email address, you have likely been bulk solicited to receive guaranteed results through their "secret" search engine technique. I have been submitting web sites to the search engines since 1997 (and all web sites had a grey background... remember that?) and have experience on their side. I do not guarantee results since I cannot control other people's web sites. I have discovered a proprietary process that consistently gets top rankings. Although there are a few reputable search engine submittal companies out there they are very costly and very restrictive. They will only optimize one keyword or keyword phrase at a time. Additional keyword or keyword phrases are additional. This adds up fast. Also there are companies that charge per position on a search engine. If they get the keyword phrase "make me number 1" on a search engine in top 3 you get charged $100. If it hits from 4th place to 10th it costs you $50. If it hits from 11th to 20th you get charged $25. Now if you do the math it gets rather costly fast. And what if this phrase in not even searched by surfers? Watch out for this type of billing. Just one phrase and all it’s derivatives could easily cost you in the thousands per month and no traffic! |
| Four steps you need to succeed. |
| There are four main areas to consider. They are submission, optimization, analysis and tracking. Each is a separate function and service. Some companies have done some work in all and sometimes don’t need them all. For example tracking is already set up on their web site. But they will still need ranking reports. If you just submit your site to the search engines and you have not optimized the page you may get listed somewhere. Your chances are slim at best. If you don’t analyze your keywords and competition rankings you won’t be able to optimize your page. If you don’t analyze the page hit and traffic you won’t know what keywords or keyword phrases are most important. |

| Quick commentary on ranking reports. It is possible to find ranking positions for keywords and keyword phrases but if you have 50 keywords it is literally impossible at this time to generate all of the possible combinations. The report itself would take a month to generate. That is why you must do your research and find the most searched phrases. Now let me shed a little light here. Not all phrases are equal. If a search phrase gets let’s say 1000 hits a day and is listed with 4 million other pages it would be difficult to get a top listing true? Now let’s say you found a related search phrase that gets 500 hits a day and there are only 200 competing pages. Which would you choose. You want less competition and high hits makes sense? Sure does. I now have the technology. You can do this yourself or I can do it for you along with my experience. |

| Another area companies should investigate before they set up a web site and analyze key areas. Again I can help or you can provide the information. Tracking is also very important. Site stats are the blood of the internet. You must track your site. You need to know what pages are bringing hits, page downloads, what time of the day, how many hits vs unique visitors, what kind of browser, what country, and the list goes on. Most important is what keywords or more important what keyword phrases and what search engine are they using! I have upgraded with new a service and technology that has just surfaced.
